THE STORY

What awaits your team

Music is the trivia format that gets played at every holiday party because it actually cuts across the table. Three rounds, all genres in scope, no formal music education required.

We open with first-five-seconds — the part where everyone knows it but only one person can shout the title fast enough. Round two pulls one frame from a music video and asks you to name the song, the artist, and the year. Round three is the deep cut: lyrics, chart history, the weirder studio stories.

The team that wins is rarely the team with the music nerd — it's the team that splits coverage. One person's 80s, one person's hip-hop, one person's Top 40 last summer. Cross-generational teams have a structural advantage.

GAME STAGES

Inside the experience — 3 stages

Liner Notes

Stage 1

Liner Notes

Themed round: chart-topper years, label history, the weirder facts (Brian Wilson never finished SMiLE in the 60s — when did it actually drop?), genre-defining moments. Multiple-choice with credible decoys.

Frame One

Stage 2

Frame One

Video round: a single frozen frame from a music video. Name the song. Name the year. Name the director if you want the bonus point. The round where one team member who watched MTV in the 90s carries the round.

First Five

Stage 3

First Five

Audio round: 5-second song intros, ranging from radio hits to the song you played at karaoke last week. Type the title in time — first team in clears the question.
